Brother's Birthday

It was my Brother's Birthday yesterday, just went to eat out at Famous Dave's but then he had to go to the hospital for sleep study. So tonight we'll be celebrating his Birthday at his friend's new club that just opened, its called Republic located on Spring Mountain so if you guys wanna check out a new club this is the place! hehe.. I was going to cook pansit and make Sushi for him today, but instead I went to school to finish my Power Point and do Access since I can always cook for him tomorrow. Well, I got my Power Point done, I guess... Mr. Wu wanted us to turn it in today so that's what I'll be doing after this. I tried putting only up to 6 slides, but it went up to 7 because of all the pictures lol. I'll just wait for what Mr. Wu has to say, I made the slide show using my own chow chow pictures except one on the Title slide. Anyways, I saw a few of our classmates at school doing their work too. Thanks to Lorrie for helping me out on a part of Access. She also gave me a printout copy of Capstones A & B. Thanks and God Bless you.. and everyone else... have a wonderful night guys!

Getting ahead

Got outa school a little late today trying to get ahead in class, finally! Hehe.. I actually went to school yesterday to catch up with SAM D and move onto Power Point. I was behind coz I was busy preparing for my pre-employment assessment test which I had to review a 113 page study guide. I already took the test worth 100 items and I am now in the next step of the hiring process, which is the phone screening interview and I'm really nervous about it! But anyways, I'm glad I caught up with class. I finished SAM Power Point C. Thai needed some help with Power Point and it was kinda funny coz I had no trouble doing SAM A & B myself, it was really quick & easy! But for some reason we had trouble helping him with the SmartArt style layout group, I opened my textbook to that topic, but I didn't feel like reading it lol. After a while, we finally figured out converting it to SmartArt with the help of Mr. Wu. and he taught me the difference between using ctrl & shift in Power Point. I learned alot, also from Corey who was very helpful, he taught me the chart elements in the Current Selection group. Without their help, I wouldn't have gotten a 100%. Anyways, got hungry after class so I ate at Carl's Junior. Only thing I ate today was pork, green beans & garlic fried rice, which I cooked. That's all!

Movie Day

Almost the end of the day & I feel so tired. Just cleaned, did some laundry, then went to Gold's Gym. Haven't worked out in a while so I stayed at the gym for like 3 hours lol did Zumba, then elliptical bike in the theater watching i Robot, I stayed long coz I wanted to finish the movie. Though an old movie, but I never seen it before. Imagine if we had world of robots as public servants? but it was scary when all of a sudden the robots were programmed to violate the laws and harm human beings. Now this makes me think our advance technology is good enough lol. I also watched another movie today World War Z. Imagine again a world of zombies? hehe.. weird I've been watching these kind of movies! awesome movie though, it was a thriller! Anyways going to edit my resume a bit now, Mr. Wu gave really good feedback and advice on our resume and it helped alot! Also providing us copies of our majors/degree sheets that we might plan on taking. Its always nice to keep our options open :)

Life of Opportunities

I'm finally getting all these opportunities! First thing in the morning I got a call from my account executive at Apple One, she suggested 2 positions Customer Service Rep or Data Entry Clerk, but I also got an email from a Recruiting Manager of MSI Incorporated giving me an opportunity for a Plasma Center Technician.  Then my former classmate said they had a Medical Technologist opening at Quest Diagnostics and she said she's going to refer me. Wow I've been praying and hoping I get my Medical job for so long after working at the MGM call center for over a year, hopefully I get it. I thank God for giving me these opportunities and I find Mr. Wu's class very helpful, because we're required to do a resume & cover letter for a job which I've been working on.. Anyways, going to study in a little bit for our 3rd Quiz. Later, I will continue my Word 2010 C, I find it challenging but I'm glad with my first attempt on Word 2010 challenge B I got a 100%.  Good thing Mr. Wu taught us how to use the Auto correct and extended the deadline.

Happy Father's Day!

Today I grilled Tilapia & greeted my Dad Happy Father's Day since its now Father's Day in the Philippines. I thanked him for all the support, advice & discipline he taught us, being strict with time & overly protective. I remember he'd often pick me up & drop me off school until I graduated College. And here I am back to school again, but now old enough to take care of myself. I can say I am very proud of my Dad, because he is a retired U.S. Navy and a Veteran.  Not only was he a good man who served the country, but one of the best Dads in the World! Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there :))

Quiz today.. weew!

Today we had a quiz & I don't know if I did well or not coz of last minute studying. I had to catch up with creating a blog last night, then prepare for an interview at Apple One which I just had today.  I'm really excited for the new position, but I can't expect.  I want to start a new career, because I don't enjoy my job at MGM anymore, answering calls all day it really drains me out.  Anyways its getting late, already did the textbook Word 2010. Now off to working on Word 2010 Independent Challenge A!

Catching up!

On the second day of class, I realized there's alot of things I never encountered in Microsoft Word. To come to think of it, you would expect you know it all since this is a program we often used. And there's actually more to Word that I didn't know even just the basics. I learned about the Show/Hide Button and how to create a document using Oriel fax template. We did alot on our second day and thats's still not including my SAM 2010 packet. It was really nice of Mr. Albert Wu to offer his packet so we wouldn't have to buy one, but for some reason it wasn't working when he tried reactivating it. I guess all students now are required to get new ones, so we end up buying our own and I'm glad I did. It is only $75 and I know it's gonna be worth keeping for future use.

1st day of class!

I can't believe summer class has already started.  Only got two weeks off school after Spring semester.  Time is flying by so fast! Speaking of fast, I know Summer is going to be fast paced!  I remember my first time going to school at CSN back in 2007, I took four classes during the Summer and gee was I struggling! Luckily, I passed all classes despite the sacrifices. Last Spring was pretty tough too taking two classes while working full time, I had no time for myself especially on my days off.  I definitely don't want to do that again.  I'm glad I took IS101, because Mr. Albert Wu doesn't make us do work at home since its mostly hands on, that's if we finish our tasks in class.  We just have to stay a little late to finish up textbook and assignments.  I think most of my classmates are smart and very well prepared, I felt a little behind because I wasn't able to get a IS101 Bundle with SAM 2010 and almost everyone in class had one.  Also posting this blog which I was a little late on.  It gave me some time to figure out since this is my first time blogging ever! And I find it actually fun! :)
